AC Ventures, Coinbase Invest in Crypto Trading Platform Reku

Summary

Indonesian crypto asset trading platform, Reku (formerly Rekeningku.com), raised US$11 million in Series A funding led by AC Ventures, with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Skystar Capital. AC Ventures Founder and Managing Partner Michael Soerijadji said he was excited to lead this investment into Reku. “With an intuitive user experience, lowest fees in the market, and a great leadership team, we believe Reku will strengthen its leadership in Indonesia’s dynamic cryptocurrency industry,” Michael said in a press release on Thursday.

The startup, which has been around for more than five years, will use the fresh funds to add 50 new team members, so the total team reaches 80 people. Reku also plans to launch new innovations to address the biggest problems of Indonesian crypto investors for both experienced and novice traders. In addition to funding, AC Ventures has placed technology veteran Jesse Choi on the company’s leadership team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Jesse Choi previously had a career as a Private Equity Investor at Bain Capital and Entrepreneur in Residence at AC Ventures.
