Bob Weir and Wolf Bros detailed a new live album entitled Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros: Live in Colorado Vol. 2 featuring highlights from a June 2021 run of concerts in The Centennial State. The seven-song collection follows the first installment released earlier this year and has been previewed with video of the “Ripple” that closes the set.
Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros: Live in Colorado Vol. 2 arrives on vinyl and CD via Third Man Records on October 7. Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir was backed by bassist Don Was, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, drummer Jay Lane and pedal steel guitarist Greg Leisz at shows held at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver at Vail’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in June 2021 that were documented for both Live In Colorado albums. The concerts also featured The Wolfpack horn and string section of Alex Kelly, Brian Switzer, Adam Theis, Mads Tolling and Sheldon Brown.
The four-show run marked Weir’s return to the road after more than a year due to the pandemic. “This was our first quick tour with The Wolfpack,” Weir explained. “There’s a rawness to it that we’ll prolly never get again…”
