Articles by Max Borders – Bitcoin Magazine

Max Borders is author of The Decentralist: Mission, Morality and Meaning in the Age of Crypto.

Borders’s other major book contributions are After Collapse: The End of America and the Rebirth of Her Ideals (2021) and The Social Singularity: A Decentralist Manifesto (2018).

Borders is founder and Executive Director of Social Evolution, an organization dedicated to liberating humanity and solving social problems through innovation. He is also co-founder of the event experience Future Frontiers, which sadly succumbed to COVID in 2020.

Over his career, Borders has served as editor for the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) where he was among the first to publish articles on the promise of Bitcoin. He also served as program director for the Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) and he currently writes a column for the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER).

Borders has written articles for Quillette, AIER, McClatchy, AEI, The Motley Fool, Cato.org, Libertarianism.org, The Washington Examiner, FEE, Econlib, Reason, and Newsweek.

Max Borders’s role in the Bitcoin space is primarily to educate and evangelize about the technology’s implications for humanity. Specifically, Borders is keen to help others see that Bitcoin is about more than money. There is a mission and moral order that animates the technology and that the technology helps to animate. He has been accused of attempting to create an “anti-government cult” around his philosophy, Decentralism. He is guilty as charged.

An array of pursuits keeps Borders working at the intersection of theory and practice. He has experience in higher education as a philosophy lecturer, in the private sector as a creative consultant, and in the non-profit sector as a policy analyst, pundit, and social innovator. His true wizardry, though, lies with the written word.

Borders’s personal mission is to spread the gospel of Decentralism, so that the peoples of the world may usher in an age of peace, freedom, and abundance.
