Domi Station’s Web 3.0 event spotlights blockchains, NFTs

Residents can learn more about blockchain and non-fungible tokens, better knowns as NFTs), through Domi Station’s Web 3.0 event this weekend.

The free event takes place Saturday at Domi Station, 914 Railroad Ave., and is geared toward local entrepreneurs, artists and athletes, who’ll learn the ins and outs of digital ownership.

Attendees will be able to create a Domi digital asset that can be used for an NFT, which can be sold online using cryptocurrency (exclusions may apply). Registration for the event is required.

Domi’s Web 3.0 event features keynote speakers: Blockspaces founder Rosa Shores and Adam Mastrelli, former director of blockchain at IBM. There also will be a panel discussion on blockchain and its importance.

In addition, Domi Station will be working with some of Florida State University’s women’s soccer athletes to create digital assets. The goals is to motivate and educate the athletic and artist community about NFTs and its value.

Domi Executive Director Robert Blacklidge said the Web 3.0 offers a “disruptive decentralized replacement to the centralized processes.

“This event will introduce these concepts to our community. We will be joined by industry leaders to share their thoughts on the future of this technology and how you can begin to interact with this technology,” said Blacklidge, in a statement.
